How to use the word finder
- Choose how to search: enter 2–15 letters from your rack, or leave Your letters empty and use at least one filter.
- To search with filters only, enter starting letters, ending letters, a word length, or any combination of them. Contains sequence requires adjacent letters in order; Exclude letters removes words with any listed letter.
- When searching from your letters, use ? for each blank tile. Each ? supplies one letter; filters narrow the words that can be made from that rack.
- Press Find words. Compare familiar words first, or switch to Extended English + names for a wider search.
Search by starting and ending letters
You can leave Your letters empty. Enter ST in Starts with and E in Ends with to find words such as state, stone and store. Add a word length to narrow the list. You can also search by length alone. When you enter letters in the top field, those letters limit the available letters in every result.

Word finder or anagram solver?
The word finder can leave letters unused. The anagram solver requires every letter, including each blank, to be used exactly once. If you have fixed letter positions rather than a rack, use the missing-letter crossword solver.
Read results by word length
By length groups results from longest to shortest, with familiar words first within each group. Choose Most common first for a single frequency-ranked list, or Alphabetical to scan by spelling. Show more words loads the next batch.
Why is a word missing?
The Standard English setting omits names and marked abbreviations. Switch to Extended English + names before changing your letters. Our standard spelling lists can still omit words accepted by a particular game. Extended English + names adds pronunciation-dictionary entries, which can include names that games reject. Check the game’s own dictionary before playing.
